Little Veterinarian School (Dog) with St. Columba Catholic School
The Little Veterinarian School encourages elementary schoolchildren to role play and explores the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactivedemonstrations, crafts, and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that realveterinarians use. At Little Veterinarian School, students will assume the role of a veterinarian and learn how to perform a nose-to-tail exam, the importance of proper nutrition, perform a tick check, and identify animal body language. In Little Veterinarian School, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a vet remove ticks safely, administer medications and more. These future professionals will learn about animal behavior, use real veterinary equipment and receive a diploma!Section I: Dog/Veterinarian After “adopting” their very own plush puppy, students willrole-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform anose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks,make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dogs.

STEM SLEUTHS is a 6-hour course that exposes students to the forensic science used tosolve a crime. Students will conduct experiments on fingerprinting, collecting shoe prints,chromatography, composite drawing, facial reconstruction, toxicology, and handwriting analysis.The class culminates in the forensic student team working together to solve a crime.

Sea Turtles with Ricks Center for Gifted Children

Fall 2024
Dive into the world of marine
biology on this extraordinary
expedition! Our program gives
participants a hands-on, dynamic
introduction to sea turtles. Each
participant will become the
caretaker of a plush sea turtle,
conduct health checks, explore
the diversity of sea turtle species,
and join a team effort to rescue
and release a Leatherback sea
turtle back into the wild. The
adventure concludes with a special
graduation ceremony, where
participants are equipped to
advocate for the protection of sea
turtles.
