  • Little Veterinarian School (Cat) at Ute Meadows Elementary School

    The Little Veterinarian School encourages elementary school children to role play and explores the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts, and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use. At Little Veterinarian School, students will assume the role of a veterinarian and learn how to perform a nose-to-tail exam, the importance of proper nutrition, perform a tick check, and identify animal body language. In Little Veterinarian School, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a vet remove ticks safely, administer medications and more. These future professionals will learn about animal behavior, use real veterinary equipment and receive a diploma! Section III: Cat/Veterinarian Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and perform a whiskers-to-tail exam on their newly “adopted” plush cat. These future veterinarians will learn about animal body language, maintaining a healthy environment such as proper litterbox placement, creating a cat toy, and designing a vet clinic.
  • Wilderness Medicine at Marshdale Elementary School

    Little Wilderness School brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way. Our program will teach children about some of the dangers in the wild and how to safely handle a medical situation. For example, students will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, how to tie a tourniquet, splint a broken leg, filter dirty water, 20 uses of a bandana, and how to treat bug bites. Our classes are led by a trained Little Medical School instructor. Each child receives a diploma, disposable lab coat, LMS bandana, thermal blanket and so much more.
